Q. What is the MIKIMOTO trademark?
How do I know my pearls are MIKIMOTO?

A. The MIKIMOTO trademark is represented by an oyster shell with a “M” inside it. This mark can be found on the following places: Necklace and bracelets (back of clasp), Earrings (on post, earring nuts and back of earrings), Ring (inside the shank), Pendant (on the back of the bail) and Brooch (on the underside of brooch). The trademark authenticates the piece as MIKIMOTO. It is important to keep the MIKIMOTO clasp for the necklace or bracelet for validity and value of the piece. Without the clasp, it becomes difficult to appraise the item as MIKIMOTO.
