 Like pearls born from an oyster, the jewelry collection by Yohji Yamamoto and MIKIMOTO seems to be born from the tears of the moon.
Unlike the glitter and sparkle of traditional jewelry, this is a nocturnal and subdued collection. It is an inundation of MIKIMOTO pearls of the highest quality ranging from the starkest white to the palest grey to the deepest black, punctuated by the brilliance of precious-metal and gem settings.
Long strand necklaces, ovoid bracelets, cascades of pendants, rings and earrings…the settings in white or yellow gold or silver are as soft to the touch as ribbons. No sharpness, all caresses, the jewelry represents all things organic, like the interior of a seashell or the break of a wave.
