Mikimoto High Jewelry Collection 2021
The Japanese Sense
of Beauty
This high jewelry collection celebrates the Japanese aesthetic sensibilities that have been shaped and refined over generations by the beauty of nature, showcased through the changing of seasons. We have long been a promoter of the jewelry culture in Japan, bringing together influences from both the West and the East. Building upon our rich heritage, we pride ourselves in introducing a new definition of beauty.
These breathtaking creations are inspired by the stylized wave pattern, seigaiha (blue ocean waves), which had originally been used in China and later introduced to Japan via the Silk Road. The mystical glow of the opals evokes a modern sensuality.
Decorated with three motifs: a fan; the moon; and the Japanese bush clover, this brooch evokes the fresh, crisp air of the autumn nights.
We immortalized the graceful aura of chrysanthemums with the most refined sense of aesthetics. Decorated with a myriad of pearls and diamonds, the dynamic designs convey the beauty and vibrant energy of flowers slowly blooming towards the sun.
Mikimoto has translated the dainty flower pattern, mujinagiku (raccoon chrysanthemum) into a light and airy necklace using openwork techniques.
The graceful bloom of wisteria flowers is given expression through sapphires, designed to gently sway along with your movements in a manner reminiscent of a gentle breeze.
This magnificent necklace and pierced earrings were inspired by the bokashi blurring technique in ink painting.
